Local Computer Facilities
Many people need access to computers to help them with their learning, and to create documents such as CV's and letters. People also need access to internet and email for keeping in contact with family, or for research and information.
There are many facilities in Dacorum where you can use computers for free or for a small charge.  Some of these are listed below:

ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)

Monday 1pm -2.30pm @ South Hill Centre
Tuesday 6pm – 7pm @ Longdean School
 
The ECDL level 2 is a recognised qualification equivalent to a GCSE. It consists of four modules – Word processing, Spreadsheet Software, Presentation Software and Improving productivity.  Software used is Microsoft Office 2007.  Studying the course gives the user a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as building the learners ability to work more effectively with ICT.

If you do not want to take part in the ECDL programme, the Monday classes will also be open to others who would like informal training in the topic area but do not wish to undertake the ECDL qualification. There is no need to book for the internet cafes - you can just turn up (except Tring).  There will be advisers on hand to help you.

Dacorum Horizons, IT for Beginners, run by Herts Library, is every Thursday morning.  Please ring to book a session. There are also computer facilities available for job search and related subjects.  Dacorum Horizons is open every weekday from 10 - 4pm.  Tel: 01442 268600.
